about

I am a seasoned corporate attorney who has experience in a broad array of matters, having practiced law in New York, Los Angeles and now Atlanta, for decades.  My primary focus centers on private equity and capital formation, intellectual property licensing, the acquisition and sale of businesses, and venture capital transactions.  I also provide strategic supervision of corporate and business litigation and dispute resolution.

My clients range in size from domestic start-ups to large international conglomerates.  My experience includes serving as General Counsel to an insurance management company, a private equity hedge fund, an oil and gas development company and a venture capital company, to name a few.

Most recently, I coordinated corporate governance, licensing and all international capital raising activities for a large and quickly-evolving Chinese multi-national in the media and entertainment industry.  My responsibilities included overseeing several initial public offerings in foreign markets, and all mergers and acquisitions activity and joint venture activity with several well-known U.S. and foreign brands.  Currently, in addition to my role as counsel at Shipe Dosik Law, I serve as General Counsel to an emergency vehicle outfitter, where I supervise and handle all day-to-day legal matters.

My years of experience allow me to quickly identify and analyze legal risks and structure all types of commercial agreements.  I place high value on being responsive to my clients, facilitating growth and removing unnecessary barriers to growth.

My wife of 55 years, Sandie, and I have lived in Roswell, GA for the last 21 years, having moved from Southern California in 1997.  I am a native of Brooklyn, NY and lived in the NY metropolitan area until mid-1990 when we moved to Southern California.  We have three adult sons and six grandchildren.  I am in my 5th decade of practicing law, and have no plans to ever fully retire. I also enjoy scuba diving, swimming and bike riding, as well as traveling to see our sons’ families in Colorado and Oregon.
